Biography

Broderick Stephen Harvey is an American comedian, television host, producer, radio personality, actor, and author. He hosts The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Family Feud, Celebrity Family Feud, and formerly hosted the Miss Universe competition.

Early Start

Harvey's dream of being on television started in the sixth grade. He worked various jobs including being a boxer, autoworker, and carpet cleaner before his first stand-up comedy performance in 1985.

In the late 1980s, Harvey was homeless for three years, sleeping in his car and showering at gas stations. He also had a severe stutter as a child which he overcame.
