Chinese Red Riding Hood
Caldecott winner; Chinese culture
This story is valuable as it teaches children about self-reliance, courage, and critical thinking. The protagonists are not saved by an external figure but use their own intelligence and cooperation to overcome danger. It introduces a non-Western version of a classic fairy tale, promoting cultural awareness of different cultural narratives.
