Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist, and one of the most revered figures in the history of Western music. His works span the transition from the Classical period to the Romantic era and are among the most performed of the classical music repertoire.
Early Start
Beethoven's musical talent was obvious from a young age. His father began teaching him intensively when he was five, and he published his first work at the age of 12.
