Biography
Bert is Ernie's best friend and roommate on Sesame Street. He is the more serious and practical of the two, often finding himself in the middle of Ernie's escapades. Bert is known for his love of pigeons, collecting paper clips and bottle caps, and reading boring stories.
Early Start
Bert was one of the original Muppets on Sesame Street, appearing in the pilot episodes. He was designed by Jim Henson and built by Don Sahlin.
Challenges Overcome
Bert's main challenge is his co-existence with his best friend, Ernie. Ernie's free-spirited and sometimes chaotic nature often clashes with Bert's desire for order and quiet. Despite their differences, they always manage to remain good friends.
