During his school years, the Cadbury chocolate company would send boxes of new chocolates to be tested by the pupils. Dahl dreamed of inventing a new chocolate bar that would win the praise of Mr. Cadbury himself, which later inspired him to write Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
