Arthur Timothy Read is an eight-year-old anthropomorphic aardvark and the main character of the beloved children's book and television series, "Arthur." Arthur's adventures began in the 1976 book "Arthur's Nose" by Marc Brown. He was created as a bedtime story for Brown's son.
